Kaspar Ratz was a sergeant in 237th infantry DIvision under the command of Generalleutnant Hans Von Graevenitz from July the 12th 1944 to April 1945 befor beeing a prisoner of war in Jugoslavia. The Division fought in Czeck Republic before moving to Istria as a part of LXXXVII Armee.
Kaspar Ratz also received the 2nd class Iron cross on April the 29th 1944 (as a corporal), and a 2nd class Kriegsverdienstkreuz mit schwerten on december the 1st 1944.
